ADK MODEL S VIENNA EDITION
July 2003—Debuting at Summer NAMM from ADK Microphones is an upgraded version of its popular A-51 studio condenser mic but with an Austrian-inspired tonality. The new Vienna Edition features Class-A discrete electronics, dramatically improved specs (15dBa noise) over its predecessor, an 18dB pad and 80Hz HP filter. Retail: $595.

ADK STEALTH LINE
May 2003—No preamp required! At AES Amsterdam, ADK Microphones unveiled its Stealth Pro Audio line, featuring a studio mic with onboard Class-A, line-level output electronics. The first models are due later this year, with a 192kHz digital out version in early 2004.

ADK A-48
March 2003—Shown at Winter NAMM, ADK's A-48 Vintage Valve is a 9-polar-pattern remotely variable tube mic with a transverse-mounted 12AX7 tube and a new 1.07-inch diameter, 5-micron diaphragm. The $1,295 price includes power supply, multipin cable, shockmount and a flight case.

ADK MODEL ST
October 2002—The Model "ST" is a Class-A FET design featuring three polar patterns, pad and bass roll-off. Designed for both live and studio applications, this mic has a smooth response curve that's flattering on both male and female vocals. Applications include "point-source" pickup of multiple voices/instruments (bluegrass to barbershop quartet) and high-SPL applications, such as drums and amplifiers. Price TBA.

ADK MULTIPATTERN TUBE
October 2002—Debuting at AES is an all-new 12AX7 vacuum tube-driven, multipattern vocal microphone that features a transverse-mounted, hemi-head design. Details and pricing TBA.

ADK A51sc
August 2002—From ADK's Audiophile Series FET comes the new A-51sc Small-Capsule Condenser High-SPL Version mic ($399). Introduced at Winter NAMM 2002, the A-51sc is a true condenser design with a 20mm diaphragm, fixed-cardioid polar pattern and 20 to 20k Hz frequency range. A -10dB pad has been added, as well. Included are a mic clip, vinyl pouch and small flight case.

ADK AREA 51 CE
December 2001—The Area 51 Commemorative Edition mic from ADK is a multipattern condenser model featuring a hand-selected, NOS (New/Old Stock) GE 6072A vintage tube. The mic features nine polar patterns and handles SPLs of 125 dB (1% THD @ 1 kHz). A precision condenser element with 1-inch diameter, gold-sputtered dual diaphragms provides a 20-20k Hz frequency response. The Area 51 is $1,895, with foam windscreen, suspension mount, connecting cable, power supply and deluxe aluminum flight case.

ADK A-51TL
October 2000—New from ADK is a large-diaphragm, low-noise transformerless FET condenser microphone with four polar patterns. Identical in dimensions to the A-51TC fixed cardioid tube mic, the A-51TL offers frequency curves specifically designed to emulate a vintage '50s-era European condenser mic.
