MBHO 440-CL
April 2003—MBHO Microphones has upgraded its small-diaphragm MBNM 440-CL condenser microphone. Now designated the 440-CLS, the mic features a switchable -10dB pad, and stereo bundle includes free mic clips and a vintage-style mic case. The 440-CLS lists at $439. To read the review, click here.

MBHO Microphones MBNM-150 EN
April 2003—The MBNM-150 EN represents the sum total of MBHO's exhaustive research into just what would represent the "perfect electret podium microphone." The electret cardioid capsule is mounted on a fully adjustable gooseneck. The 12mm, fixed capsule has extraordinarily effective off-axis rejection with built-in compensation for proximity effect. List: $389.

MBHO SERIES 400 MICS
July 2001—German microphone manufacturer MBHO now offers the Series 400 line of small-diaphragm condenser mics in the U.S. Both the MBNM 440 cardioid and the MBNM 410 omnidirectional models feature the company's propriety SMD technology, which offers improved on- and off-axis response, shorter signal routing and low current consumption. Each mic retails for $341.

MBHO CONDENSER CAPSULE EXTENSION
May 2001—The MBC-603A from MBHO is similar to its MBP-603 miniature condenser mic, but includes a 9-foot extension cable, useful in recording and broadcast applications where traditional mic placement techniques are unsuitable. The MBC-603A features transformerless circuitry and smooth on/off-axis frequency response. Price of the preamp and extension cable is $382. Small-diaphragm capsules—sold separately—list between $237 and $281.

MBHO LOLLYPOP
April 2001—MBHO offers the MBNM 608 Lollypop multipattern condenser microphone. Offering a selection of cardioid, omnidirectional and figure-8 patterns, the 608's capsule design features a double-diaphragm, gold-sputtered membrane and a brass back plate. Frequency response is 5-20k Hz; max SPL is 133 dB.

MBHO JECKLIN AND SCHNEIDER DISCS
February 2001—German microphone manufacturer MBHO offers the Jecklin and Schneider discs for stereo recording with omnidirectional microphones. The two disc types may be used with any pair of matched omni microphones (MBHO recommends the MBNM-648 with omni capsules) placed on either side of the disc, producing natural-sounding stereo recordings with exceptional low-frequency response and precise stereo placement. The Jecklin disc is $219; the Schneider is $292. To read the review, click here.

MBHO MODULAR CAPSULES
February 2001—Mic manufacturer MBHO now offers 11 different types of interchangeable capsules for its modular microphone system. Exchangeable capsules offered are omni and figure-8, and several flavors of cardioid pickup characteristics can be used with the MBNM-603, 680 and 548 mic preamps.
